Class suspensions due to heavy rains in some parts of Bicol Region

Guinobatan disaster risk reduction and management head Joy Maravillas said that heavy rains on Wednesday, January 18 washed out the Tandarora Road Bridge in Barangay Tandarora.

Motorists were cautioned to slow down on roads covered with mud and debris in Barangay Masarawag.

Meanwhile, the Provincial government of Camarines Sur also announced suspension of classes at all levels.

Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion declared the suspension of classes from pre-school to senior high school in all learning institutions.

In the town of Lupi, also in Camarines Sur, spillways connecting barangays Poblacion, Barrera, San Pedro, San Jose, and Polantuna were still impassable as of early morning. due to overflowing rivers.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Southern Luzon said light to moderate rains affected Albay, Sorsogon, Romblon, Catanduanes, and Camarines Sur.

Pagasa advised disaster officials to monitor the weather.
