Public clamor for Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla to resign has snowballed among citizens wanting him to step down out of “delicadeza”.

A netizen questions Remulla’s “moral ascendancy” to cleanse the ranks of the Judiciary when he cannot impose any “moral foundation” for his own family.

Unconfirmed reports from Malacañang say that any move to resign by Remulla will not be accepted.

On Tuesday, anti-drug operatives arrested the eldest son of Justice Secretary Remulla in an anti-illegal drug operation in Las Piñas City.

38-year-old Juanito Jose Diaz Remulla III was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for possession of a parcel containing about one kilo of “kush” or high-grade marijuana.

Some netizens said Sec. Remulla should resign out of courtesy and to ensure an independent investigation and trial considering he is leading the DOJ.

Sec. Remulla, in a statement, made it clear he will neither intervene nor influence his son’s situation and “will let justice take its own course.”

“I have to abide by the Oath of Office I took when I assumed this position,” he said.

Secretary Remulla is in Switzerland, attending the 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council, and expected to be back in the country on Friday.

Anti-illegal drug authorities seized from Juanito two (2) packets containing suspected kush worth around P1.3 million.

However, Secretary Remulla, in a statement, lauded the PDEA for doing its job “without fear or favor”..
