A 61-year-old tourist from Pasay City died in the vicinity of Subic Small in Barangay Calintaan, Matnog, Sorsogon at around 4:30 in the afternoon of April 9, 2023.
The victim Daniel Bacolod Delmo was among the tourists together with 11 other sight seers who by-passed the local tourism office when the group hired Ramon Gile y Desuasido a 58 -year-old local fisherman according to the report of the MPS Matnog.
The report added that the pump boat was overloaded aside from the unbalanced cargoes causing it to flip and capsize in the vicinity of Subic Small seawater of Calintaan Matnog.
The unhurt passengers are Kenneth Delmo, Melissa Delmo, Devine Thompson, Melrose Thompson all residents of Galvez St., Pasay City. Except Devine the rest are of legal age.
The other unhurt passengers are from Singalong, Malate, Manila identified as Calib Ragab, Zainab Ragab (minor) and Cathy Khalid. Also Anne Dicang, Nataniel Laguidao and Hearty Dicang all residents of Sea Breeze Home of Sorsogon City are unhurt.
They were rescued by coast guard personnel and brought to Matnog Medicare Hospital for medical evaluations.
