The vaccination doses sent to the Bicol provinces must be used within 6 days from the day of arrival to achieve vaccination efficiency.

This was clarified by the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD).

The Health agency also informed LGUs and other stakeholders that the number of vaccine doses the Bicol Region receives is not within the control of Bicol CHD.

DOH Bicol CHD said that for Bicol Region to receive more vaccine allocations from the National government, LGUs and all vaccination implementation units must increase vaccinations efficiency by utilizing all vaccine doses allocated within 6 days from receipt of the allocation, and to strictly follow the prioritization framework recommended by the National Vaccination Operations Center.

DOH Bicol CHD said the National Government determines the vaccine allocation for the whole region and to some specific LGUs where special allocations are provided.

Of the regional vaccine allocation set by the National Government, DOH Bicol CHD allocates to the provinces and cities based on the number of masterlisted Priority Group A1 (Frontline workers in the health sector), and the population of senior citizens or Priority Group A2.

The Provincial Health Offices determine municipal allocation, and not by the DOH Bicol CHD.
