San Jose Mayor “Doc Mac” Marco P. Chavez MD in Camarines Sur distributed 140,000 tilapia fingerlings to people with Registered Fish Ponds.
The Tilapia restocking of existing fishponds is part of food security program by LGU San Jose to meet challenges poised by the pandemic.
These fingerlings were provided by Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) through the help of Mr. Nilo Consuelo, Provincial Fishery Officer as support for backyard fishing, especially this time of pandemic.
The tilapia fingerling distribution was facilitated by San Jose Mayor Doc Mac Chavez, thru the Office of Municipal Agriculture headed by Mrs. Grace Santelices.
Backyard fishpond owners are encouraged to coordinate with the Municipal Agriculture Office for future programs and benefits.
