A SWAT checkpoint in Sorsogon City nabbed 2 persons by warrantless arrest after a gun was seized and the driver’s license was found of doubtful status.
In a report, SWAT police arrested a tricycle driver and his passenger on Sunday night, November 21 in Barangay Pangpang, after the driver lacked proper documents of OR/CR for his driver’s license.
The passenger was also found in possession of a .38 calibre revolver without proper papers.
As reported, SWAT team personnel held a checkpoint in front of Sorsogon City Police Station at Barangay Pangpang and flagged down the said tricycle coming from Barangay Capuy going to Casiguran.
Flagged down was tricycle driver John Paul Socatre Dogillo, 22-year old, while his passenger is Joseph Guevarra Oplida, 34-year-old, married, both are residents of Barangay Trece Martirez, Casiguran.
They are facing charges of violating RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and RA 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
They were brought before the prosecutor for inquest.
