Sorsogon Province has the highest number of ISO-CERTIFIED towns for public service efficiency in the country after the inclusion of two more towns, LGU Bulusan and LGU Irosin.
According to Governor Chiz Escudero, the towns of Bulusan and Irosin are the 7th and 8th LGU out of the 15 towns in the province that were awarded ISO Certificates, thus giving Sorsogon the recognition of having the highest number of ISO-Certified LGUs in the country.
Rewinding back, the Local Government Units of Barcelona, Bulan, Castilla, Donsol, Pilar and Sorsogon City had their ISO Certifications, while the remaining towns are still under auditing process.
The Provincial Government of Sorsogon earned its ISO 9001:2015 certification in June 2021, awarded by Certification International Philippines Inc.
Sorsogon is the first province in Bicol Region and among the few in the 81 provinces of the country that got ISO-Certified.
Likewise, the 9 hospitals under the Sorsogon Provincial Health Office had received ISO certifications and recognized “in terms of processes and services” by the Geneva-based ISO.
