Palarong Bikol 2024
The province athletic contingent to the recently concluded Palarong Bikol 2024 who took home medals were fitted with a cash incentive ceremony May 17 at the provincial gymnasium.
The cash incentive for bronze medalist is five thousand pesos for the silver it received ten thousand pesos and for the gold medalist twenty thousand pesos was the incentive. It was witnessed by their fellow athletes, the delegation staff and provincial leaders.
According to Board Member Ryan Dioneda himself a sports enthusiast the incentive is a challenge and an enticement to other athletes that dedication discipline and physical conditioning are key to achieve the distinction as a medalist.
He said that that winning is a moment of self pride to an athlete but what is most important you put in the sporting map that Sorsogon has a crop of athletes capable to beating the best in their field. It was mentioned that their achievement is now a stepping stone to national glory.
On the part of Board Member Benito ‘Boytee’ Doma who championed the local athletes that Sorsogon without them was again recorded as a pool of sporting winners in Bicolandia.
The athletes were again challenged to continue their trainings preparatory for the 2025 Palarong Bikol which will be hosted by Sorsogon.
