Sorsogon governor Boboy Hamor announced that the construction of the Sorsogon 2nd District Provincial Hospital in the town of Irosin will begin in January next year. This project is part of the ongoing efforts of the Provincial Government to improve health services in the province.
According to Governor Hamor, funds are ready for the construction of the hospital which is expected to have modern facilities. Under his leadership, efforts to improve medical services for Sorsoganons continued, following the recognition of Sorsogon as the leading implementer of Universal Health Care in the country.
“Having a proper and modern hospital is not only a proof of our desire to organize health services, but a promise to a brighter future for every Sorsoganon. We must maintain it and further strengthen it,” said Governor Hamor.
The construction of the new hospital will not only benefit the town of Irosin but also the neighboring towns of Matnog, Bulan, Sta. Magdalena, Bulusan, and Juban. This will also greatly help to reduce the number of patients brought to the Sorsogon Provincial Hospital, which is usually full at present.
Apart from being a solution to the overcrowding of hospitals, it is also expected to provide faster access to medical services, especially in emergency cases. The new hospital will have modern equipment such as advanced diagnostic machines, more ward beds, and expanded outpatient services.
“Sorsogon is now known as a province that keeps its promises. The construction of this hospital is proof that the provincial government remains faithful to the goal of promoting the health and well-being of every citizen,” added Governor Boboy.
