Almost half a million volunteers signified their intentions to serve as poll watchers and as staffers for voters assistance desk in various diocese nationwide.
This information was relayed by Myla Villanueva PPCRV national chairperson saying that they will be fielded by their respective dioceses on May 9 Election Day. They were instructed to witness and be present in polling places to ascertain and witness the truth whatever it might be.
Villanueva meeting the volunteers of Lipa Archdiocesan Council for Electoral Reforms said that some of the volunteers will serve as encoders, manpower for their call center, ushers and other functions for the efficient operation of the PPCRV command center as it tracks the results of votes transmitted for its unofficial and parallel counts starting May 9 until 20 at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
Their command center acting as a poll watchdog will receive in their transparency server the electronic server of the elections. One of the tasks of PPCRV is to ensure that the data in the hard copy matches those in the electronic election return.
The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting is the accredited citizen arm of the Commission on Election.
