PASACAO, Camarines Sur – On a pre-departure inspection by Coast Guard Pasacao Sub-Station personnel one of the passengers of M/V Virgen de Penafrancia bound for San Pascual, Burias Island, Masbate, Jennalyn Bello, a 29-year-old woman who was 7 months pregnant suddenly experienced abdominal cramps.
The quick responder among PCG personnel was Seaman Second Class Vincent Adrian Junior BalaMban of the Maritime Environment Protection Unit was a registered midwife before enlisting with the maritime group.
While onboard a car and attending to the emergency on hand, the baby boy’s head is already out of the mother’s womb and the delivery was handled successfully revealing a healthy baby boy which was named Franco by her mother.
SN2 Balamban said that it was a humbling experience thanking the Almighty for the safe delivery of the healthy baby Franco which was turn-over to the Pasacao MDRRMO for further medical assistance of the mother and the baby, they are now being attended at the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City.
