338 informal settlers, mostly coastal dwellers, were given new houses in Casiguran, Sorsogon.
These families, awarded new homes, by the local government came from barangays Somal-ot, Central, Cawit and Lungib where most of them are dwellers along the coastal areas.
Casiguran Mayor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor, aiming to provide decent housing and dignity among marginalized constituents and informal settlers, had secured funding from the national government for this social housing project.
On Monday, May 3, new homes were distributed to 31 families from barangay Somal-ot.
Mayor Hamor reminded the awardees to take care of their new homes given by the local government.
