The Satellite Office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Sorsogon will open to the public.
This was confirmed by the NBI staff at www.BicolExpress.News that on Monday, November 8, 2021, the public will officially file applications for obtaining NBI Clearance.
The NBI satellite office is located at the ground floor of City Mall in Sorsogon City.
It will be recalled that Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero asked the NBI to set up an office in the province to reduce the expenses of applicants.
The NBI clearance is one basic document needed by job seekers, to get a passport, and so on.
Applicants no longer need to go to Legazpi City.
The opening of the NBI Satellite Office is a great help and comfort to people of Sorsogon.
“Months of negotiation”
As early as January last year, talks were held between Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero and the National Bureau of Investigation on the possibility of operating a satellite office of the Bureau in Sorsogon.
This is to lessen the burden of Sorsoganons in traveling to Legaspi City to secure the much-needed clearance often requested as a requirement for employment.
Though online application to secure the clearance offered by internet-shops is available, however the release can only be secured personally by the applicant all the way to Legaspi City.
Taking the initial steps, NBI-Bicol identified space at City malls in Sorsogon as its satellite hub and the preparation had been done.
Applicants can also save on fare costs. Online application is offered for those who no longer want to line up.
