The 7’s Football League Philippines, led by Anton Del Rosario, a football icon in the Philippines, and a former Azkals (Philippine Men’s National Football Team) player and captain, is the organizing committee on supervised 7-aside football tournaments across the country, had set eyes on the state-of-the-art football pitch of the recently refurbished Ligao Athletic Oval that had its re-opening to the public last November of last year, showcasing its world-class stadium lights.
The 7×7 Cayetano Coca-Cola Cup, a one-day football tournament mainly sponsored by Senator Pia Cayetano and Coca-Cola Philippines, in collaboration with the City Government of Ligao, thru the leadership of Mayor Fernando C. Gonzalez and Vice Mayor Jaypee M. David, aims to create more opportunities through football and to provide a platform for teams across the country to showcase their skills and compete in a spirited environment, especially for the women and the youth.
Spearheaded by the 7s Philippines Football League – Bicol Coordinator; Kim Nilo B. Orobia, a Bicolano championing and promoting Bicol-based in the national stages of football, along with the city’s local homegrown team, Ligao City United Football Club, will be the hosts of this regional-level sporting event, which will be conducted this December 22, 2024, at the Ligao Athletic Oval, Binatagan, Ligao, Albay, Bicol.
The tournament will feature a diverse range of clubs and organizations composed of chosen and curated players from their respective cities and municipalities in the six provinces of Bicol, along with guest teams outside Bicol as well.
This event coincides with the annual city’s fiesta, which will be on the 25th of December. It will be open for public viewing with free admission. Definitely a spectacle to watch for sports and avid football fans.
