Local Government of Tigaon, Camarines Sur, confirmed on New Years Eve that a constituent is Omicron variant positive.
This confirmation was publicly issued after the Department of Health on Friday, December 31, reported two cases of Omicron variant recorded in the towns of Tigaon and Bombon, Camarines Sur.
“Based on the declaration today of DOH-CHD Bicol on their Facebook Account, Bicol 46298 (in Tigaon) is confirmed with positive case of OMICRON Variant,” LGU Tigaon admitted, in a statement made public Friday night.
According to LGU Tigaon, the patient is a married, 46 -year -old woman from Barangay San Rafael.
A High School staff, she was found positive for COVID-19 on November 15, 2021, and subjected to mandatory quarantine starting November 13, to November 27, 2021.
While in quarantine, she experienced mild symptoms.
On December 13, 2021, the LGU was informed by PHO-Cam Sur that she is a case of Delta Variant, and that the Covid Team placed her to Mandatory quarantine and found positive after RT-PCR test on December 15.
RT-PCR Test was held again on December 27, 2021 with the result, NEGATIVE in COVID-19.
On December 31, she was again tested, but test result was not yet issued.
Starting December 13 to the present, Bicol 46298 has been quarantined.
All Close Contacts located by Contact Tracing Team in the house and place of work were subjected to RT-PCR Testing on December 15.
Having a case of OMICRON Variant in the town, the Municipal Inter Agency Task Force and the LGU-Tigaon are working together to make sure that they are safe, especially in the new year.
All must adhere to minimum public health standards, wear face mask regularly, avoid crowds and gathering of people, wash hands or use alcohol/disinfectant, and if it is not important, avoid going out the house, the LGU said.
