Authorities in Bacacay, Albay recovered a girl dead of stab wounds with her neck cut in Barangay Hindi.
The victim, 22 years old, went out to town to cash out the money sent by her brother working in Sorsogon.
According to Police Major Irvin Bellen, chief of Bacacay PNP, over media interview, a person of interest is being monitored as suspect.
Police Chief Bellen said the victim was a graduating student, running for cum laude in BS Accountancy at a private university in Legazpi City.
Police did not rule out the possibility that the victim might have been raped before she was murdered.
