SORSOGON PROVINCE – In an audience with Governor Chiz Escudero a private group intends to construct a cold storage plant and a blast freezing facility to prevent wastage of Tamban or “Lawlaw” that are left to rot in the sea port of Bulan.
According to Rosanna Villareal representative of Fortune Group Corporation the cold storage plant and the blast freezing facility may reduce to zero the oversupply of the fish in the market.
The company produces a well-known brand of sardines in the country. Aside from the cold storage plant and the blast freezing facility they also intend to have a canning factory in the area to partner with their salted fish sauce (Patis) venture.
The proposed project will create job opportunities for the first-class municipality and can assure fisherfolks that their catch of “lawlaw” will no longer rot because of the ready market.
