Citizens in Naga City, Camarines Sur lambast the City Government for alleged “stupidity” for mocking the name of Naga City, (or City of Naga) into “NAGANA”.
The NAGANA signage is placed at popular public Plaza Rizal, whom citizens score the City Government for mocking the city’s name, cheap gimmicks, while another citizen casts suspicion that a contractor had made money from such gimmick.
The City Government, headed by reelectionist Mayor Son Legacion, did not issue any official explanation.
Former Prosecutor Carlos Cortez Jr. leads the call for the City Government to scrap the signage.
Cortez said a dictionary defines “nagana” as a kind of cattle disease.
Several citizens describe this as “devoid of intelligence, only stupidity”.
Some of these comnents:
Anton De las Llagas: si incumbent mayor Nelson Legacion, an nagkaag kayan. Hehehe
Egay Carmona: susme.
An nagpalaag kayan dapat MADAOG NA ! Taga man ako pero guinibong kalokohan ang pangaran…”
“Who is that crazy man that changed the name of my beautiful city ? Stupid to do it!!! Naga City will always be !”
