NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur – Anticipating the effect of the African Swine Fever to local hog raisers the Price Coordinating Council of Naga City suspended the price ceiling of original meat sold for 300 hundred pesos per kilo in all public and commercial wet markets. The suspension of the price ceiling was an amendment of the city PCC Resolution No. 2-2021.
It has seen the impact of the ASF on the looming scarcity of available hogs in the locality which may further impact the losses of hog raisers ultimately may force to close butcher shops.
The suspension took effect on April 8 this year.
