SORSOGON CITY, Philippines — In celebration of the National Heritage Month, various artists and cultural organizations from the United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) Area B District 5, Kurit-Lagting Art Collective, Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP) Bicol Chapter, Pantayong Pananaw, and Arriba Group will be launching a virtual talk on May 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM on facebook.
Entitled “Para sa Pamana: Preserving Heritage and Valuing History”, the virtual event aims to discuss the need for public awareness, social consciousness, respect, and love for the legacies of the nation’s cultural history with guest speakers, Maxine Andrea Lumbera (UAPSA National President) of Ateneo de Davao University, Alfredrick Cruz (UAPSA Secretary General) of Technological Institute Manila, and Geri Matthew Carretero (Graduate Student, UPCFA) of Kurit-Lagting and CAP Bicol.
Moderated by Robert Marticio (UAPSA B5), the virtual talk will also feature a case study on the Plaza Bonifacio in Sorsogon City by architecture students, Eva Margareta, Jubert Bryan Tiu, John Daniel Jordan, and Sean Andrew Grutas from the Sorsogon State University.
The virtual talk will be streamed live via Kurit-Lagting and UAPSA B5 facebook pages.
