CAMARINES SUR – Two artists have creative ways on how to celebrate Father’s Day.
Bacolod-born artist Francis San Miguel treats his family, his wife and 2 kids, from his sales of his paintings and sculptures.
He used to work at an outdoor advertising agency.
His works are being “commissioned” by a US-based friend for shows and sale in that country.
Aside from portraits and realism, Francis does social arts, like this time, “ideifying” the Father for the sacrifices for his family and the hardships under the pandemic.
“He shields his child, at the same time, offers his sacrifices to the Lord. The fathers, who are the frontliners, giving their best,” said Francis, explaining his sketch.
In Tigaon, Camarines Sur, leaf artist Dominic Jay Gregorio etches a cacao leaf honoring the fathers throughout the world.
Gregorio thanks those fathers who are the strength of every family during the difficult journey through the Covid 19 pandemic.
