Two more Army soldiers died under medical attention, who were among the 8 soldiers reported earlier as gravely injured, in the tragic road accident that killed 6 other soldiers in Masbate.
The accident happened on Sunday in Uson, Masbate, when the Army KM450 military truck loaded with 14 soldiers rammed a parked cement mixer truck at Barangay Buenasuerte.
The soldiers belonged to the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2IB) of the 9th Infantry “Spear” Division (9ID) who were delivering supplies to their temporary patrol post in Barangay Paguihaman.
According to investigators, the left rear tire suddenly exploded, causing the Army truck to lose control, rolling over, and ramming into the parked cement mixer truck.

Early reports revealed that of the 14 soldiers, six of them died on the spot, while the other 8 soldiers suffered serious injuries. Two more soldiers died shortly after receiving medical attention.
