Eleven (11) tourist hikers with four (4) tour guides scaling Mount Bulusan escaped death from the spewing hot gasses, erupting volcano in Sorsogon on Sunday morning.
Most of the hikers are tourists from the National Capital Region and Calabarzon area.
The fleeing group took the Barcelona trail that led them to safety while escaping from the gas-spewing volcano.
This was confirmed by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-Bicol, which said the tourists climbed up the volcano on Saturday, a day before the eruption.
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Barcelona, had also confirmed the 14 hikers and 4 tourist guides made it to safety.
MDRRMO did not reveal the names of the tourists.
