Sorsogon registers 8 cases of Delta Variant; Masbate leads, followed by Naga City

Sorsogon recorded cases of Delta variant, this was confirmed by DOH – Sorsogon yesterday.

Department head Dr. Gladys Escoto said among eight cases, 5 here are active.

Aside from the Delta variant, 7 Beta and 5 Alpha variants were also recorded.

According to Dr. Escoto , the public should be alarmed, especially those who do not have the discipline to follow the implemented minimum health protocols, those who do not follow proper home quarantine, disinfection and travels that do not go through. proper assessment.

A DOH-Bicol bio surveillance report said, five Delta variants in Sorsogon are new cases, four in Masbate and three new cases in Naga City and Camarines Sur.

According to the data, up to 78 Delta variants have been recorded in the Region, followed by 70 Beta variants and 35 Alpha variants.

Sorsogon is fourth in the recorded Delta variant.

The province of Masbate leads with 20 Delta variants, followed by Naga City – 14, and 13 in Albay.

The Department clarified the data are based on specimen submitted to the Philippine Genome Center (PGC).

The doctor said “this is not yet the total variants of concern that are circulating in the Region.”
