Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero Executive Order 26-2021 imposed cautionary measures for the observance of All Souls and All Saints Day in all cemeteries of the province. The closure is temporary.
The preventive measure is to mitigate the possible spread of COVID-19 and its variant during the traditional paying of respect to the departed love ones common during the free pandemic time.
The public was advised to instead visit their departed love ones before or after the said dates.
The EO mandates strict compliance with minimum health standards of social distancing. wearing of a mask and limited entry protocols before and after the period.
It also tasked all mayors to undertake the cleaning of the cemetery under their jurisdiction also maintaining health protocols.
The Order was issued on October 14, 2021.
