The province of Sorsogon generates 81,398 tons of garbage annually, about 223 tons per day.

In the proposed project, there will be two clusters of sanitary landfills in the province that will store different types of waste in all towns.

Sanitary landfills will be made sure to follow strict environmental standards to minimize their negative impact on the environment.

In addition, the project favors waste segregation and recycling to reduce the amount of waste thrown into the disposal facility.

It will also reduce the cost and will not have to pay to other towns to dispose of waste, including hospital bio-hazard wastes.
