A netizen spilled out in social media about the Naga City Hospital refusing treatment to an 8-year old for a category 3 dog bite on a flimsy reason that it was a “holiday” in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
The said “holiday” was the death anniversary of Jesse Robredo, Naga’s popular Mayor who died in a plane crash off Masbate, then as DILG Secretary.
The Hospital staff said only “follow-ups” are allowed.
Ate Trevino, in her Facebook post, says the dog bite victim came all the way from Siruma, Camarines Sur for treatment, and was given a rude reception at the Hospital. Siruma is about 60 kilometers from Naga.
“We weren’t there for 5 minutes and he looked like he was already at the end of his patience, despite there being NO OTHER PATIENTS in the room at the time,” she says, describing a Hospital staff at the animal bite center.
Meanwhile, several netizens over social media called on Mayor Son Legacion to pay close attention to the rude attitude by the Hospital staff, and their lack of compassion.
Naga City Hospital is owned by the City Government.
As advised by netizens, the victim was referred to a private animal bite center where treatment was given.
