The Philippine Army lost 6 soldiers dead and recovered 8 injured men after the military truck they were riding on crashed into a parked cement mixer truck.
The tragic accident happened on Sunday night, October 16, at Purok 2, Brgy. Buenasuerte, Uson, Masbate.
The police identified the dead victims by their family names as Sgt. Kyamko, the driver, Pfc Lahoy-lahoy, Pfc Gumba, Pfc Aragon, Pvt Rave, and Pvt Badong, all members of the 2nd IB, Philippine Army.
Partial police report said members of the 2nd IB, PA on board their service truck were moving toward Brgy. Guihaman, Uson, to deliver supplies from Sitio Baclay, Milagros, when the left rear tire suddenly blew out.
The driver lost control of the truck, which then crashed into the parked cement truck mixer, killing 6 and seriously injuring 8 soldiers.
The surviving victims were immediately brought to Masbate Provincial Hospital for urgent treatment.
