A powerful dynamite explosion shattered a house, killing 4 persons and injuring 7 others in Masbate Province on Tuesday afternoon.
Destroyed was the house of a barangay chairman of Barangay Pajo, Balud, Masbate.
Dead were chairman Lina Recto and 3 others, identified as Aisa Sese, Ronelyn Bulala and Mac-Mac Dela Cruz.
The blast destroyed the house and uprooted several trees nearby.
According to reports, dynamite or ammonium nitrate was the cause of the explosion, that also injured 7 others, including 2 minors.
The injured were brought to Balud Municipal Hospital.
Police said the explosives were being used for illegal dynamite fishing.
The explosives, that went off, had been stored inside the house.
