COVID-19: 2 deaths, 38 recovered latest recorded in Sorsogon

An 82-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man have died from illness caused by the COVID-19 virus in the province, according to the latest report by the Sorsogon Provincial Health Office (PHO). The woman is from Calao, Pto. Diaz registered as Bicol Patient No. 6313 admitted to a private hospital on April 14 due to lethargy, swab sample was taken the same day and confirmed positive the next day. She passed away on April 30 and is the 46th case of death caused by COVID-19 in the province.

The 76-year-old man from Pilar town on April 30 was admitted to a private hospital due to fever, cough and sore throat. A swab sample was taken and confirmed to be positive for the virus. He was the 47th case death recorded in the province due to COVID-19.

According to the PHO, on May 1 there are twenty-five recoveries that were released from confinement and sent home. They are from Sorsogon City, Castilla, Juban, Irosin, Bulusan. Pilar, Pto. Diaz, Barcelona and Matnog.

The next day, 13 patients were also sent home after recovering from COVID-19 raising the number pf recoveries to 38.
