Conflicting classification of Bicol Region by IATF and DOH Bicol noted

The National Covid-19 Vaccination Operation Center release Advisory No. 26 on April 5 has identified provinces, cities, munici[alities as critical and high-risk areas for the infectious Covid virus. The advisory is the Philippine COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment and Vaccination Campaign that informs the Regional and Local Vaccination Operation Center, Implementing Units and Vaccination Sites on the vaccination of selected Local Chief Executives.

Included in the listing are the local chief executives of Sorsogon City, the towns of Sta. Magdalena, Matnog and Gubat . This listing was part of the directive contained in the 108th Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of emerging Infectious Disease(IATF-EID) meeting attended by governors and LCE’s of cities and municipalities taking into consideration their role in managing their response to the pandemic.

However, DOH Bicol on the other hand said that four of Bicol provinces are low-risk areas only Camarines Sur and Sorsogon were classified as moderate risk areas thereby giving another picture of the situation.

The conflicting statement revealed an uncoordinated data from two government agencies front lining critical information to the public pointing disarray in data.
