On Bonifacio Day, Bikolano singer-songwriter and music producer Karl Ramirez launched “Kita An Naga” (We Are Naga), a song dedicated to the continued pursuit of good governance in Naga City.
A week before Bonifacio Day, Karl Ramirez and his world-music percussion group Kilyab from the Bicol Pop network had a debut of “Kita An Naga” in an impromptu music session at the Colgante bridge wharf together with volunteers who were doing a clean-up of the Naga River.
“We hope the song can rally Nagueños to uphold these values and hold leaders of government into account,” said Ramirez. “And with the coming elections just a stone’s throw away, we hope the anthem might inspire people, in Naga City and beyond, to value their participation in governance and elect better.”
“We thought of launching Kita An Naga on Bonifacio Day as a reminder that, just like Bonifacio’s revolution, the struggle for good governance is never finished and is and will always be a continuing process,” ends Ramirez.
“Kita An Naga” is currently available in most streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple, and YouTube.
