A 31-year old mother of six minors died from stab wounds inflicted by her live-in partner enraged by jealousy, and tried to kill himself but failed, police report said.
The incident happened in Tigaon, Camarines Sur on Monday afternoon, January 31, at Barangay Gubat.
The victim was identified as Francia Briones Avila and the suspect as Marcel Canada Balance, 37 years old.
According to PCAPT Rey Alis, DCOP and PIO of Tigaon MPS, with the suspect’s knowledge, the victim with a friend went to PSA in Naga City.
In Naga City, and while going back to Tigaon, the suspect subjected her to persistent cellphone calls, in feats of jealousy.
Upon reaching home, Francia, the victim, was stabbed several times by the suspect leading to her death.
In turn, suspect Marcel tried to commit suicide by stabbing his stomach twice, but he survived.
Marcel is facing charges for murder.
The victim left behind six children, all minors.
