Bicol Bishops have instructed the clergy in all parishes in the Bicol region to include a special prayer in the Sunday Masses for the suffering people of Myanmar.

Myanmar is undergoing civil instability and violence after a military takeover of its government and its continued persecution and atrocities on people involved in resisting the takeover.

Archbishop Romulo Valles, CBCP President, in response to an urgent appeal from Cardinal Charles Bo of Myanmar, sent this request:

“This Sunday, May 30, Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (also designated as BEC Sunday) we include in all the Masses in our parishes, a special prayer for the suffering people and the Church in Myanmar.”

“Let us pray for the end of violence and atrocities, and the forging of peace in that nation.”

+Joel Z. Baylon, Bishop of Legazpi, made public this message from Cardinal Charles Bo and the Catholic faithful of Myanmar.
