The minimum wage earners will receive an additional twenty pesos daily as part of the second tranche of the increase pursuant to Wage Order NO. RBV-20. The first trance approved on June 18, 2022 amounted to P35.00 and took effect on the same date. It is now P365.00 minimum wage.
The latest round of increases was announced by DOLE Region V Director Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita concurrent Chairperson of the RTPWB V that the Bicol Region minimum wage is P365.00 effective December 1, 2022, applicable to all minimum wage earners in the private sector regardless of position, designation, status and irrespective of the methods by which their wages are paid.
It was seen as a relief for the minimum wage earner because of the increase in prices for basic commodities and services caused by inflation.
The new round as approved has the consensus of the key policymakers composed of RTWPB, NEDA, DTI and the representative from the management and labor sector.
