A top rank aviation security officer in Albay struck a low rank police officer with a broken bottle.
The blow damaged his right eye, possibly becoming blind.
The assault victim is PMSG Ricky Brabante, non-commissioned officer of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion.
Report said Brabante lost his right eye completely after he was allegedly hit with a broken bottle by PCOL Dulnoan Dinamling Jr., Regional Commander of Aviation in Bicol Region.
According to Bicol PNP spokesperson PMAJ Malu Calubaquib, the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, November 13, few hours after the officer’s birthday celebration.
Yesterday, new PNP Chief, General Dionardo Bernardo Carlos, personally visited Brabante, assessing his eye injury.
General Carlos assured the victim full support to get justice.
A Special Investigation Task Group was formed to probe into the incident.
Bicol PNP Regional Director Jonnel Estomo also recommended the abusive colonel be removed from Aviation Security Group.
Carlos and Estomo secured financial assistance for Brabante’s recovery.
