The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) received reports that a total of 29 casualties due continuous rain in parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Out of the 29 casualties, the disaster council has yet to validate from the ground 14 individuals according to its situational report last Tuesday.
Of the total reported casualties, eight cases of deaths came from the Zamboanga Peninsula while Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao have seven each.
The Bicol Region have reported five deaths while the Davao Region and Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City) reported one death case each.
Aside from reported deaths, the NDRRMC also received reports that at least 12 people were injured while four people remain missing due to widespread rain since January 2. To date, The non-stop rains have already affected 347,382 families or 1,398,103 people.
Meanwhile, the latest report on agriculture damage was estimated at P373.9 million and P171.5 million worth of damage to infrastructure, the NDRMMC reported.
There are a number of low pressure areas (LPAs) that have entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) since the beginning of the month, while the shear line and northeast monsoon (amihan) continue to affect the country.
In its 4 a.m. Tuesday weather bulletin, Pagasa said that two low-pressure areas (LPA) are currently inside the PAR and that cloudy skies and rain will still persist to the rest of the country.
