The five GIDA island barangays two in Magallanes and Matnog towns and one in Juban recently received cash assistance from the provincial government of Sorsogon to augment their barangay budget. All are island barangays isolated from the mainland and living in difficult circumstances for a long time.

The barangay Calintaan share is 3,017,378 pesos and Calayuan was funded with 2,287,941 assistance. The two barangays are in Matnog town.
While in Juban town barangay Sablayan receive 2,650,779 pesos.
Th five recepient barangays were observed by provincial planners that their living conditions are in a margin which prompted the augmentation of barangay funds sourced from the provincial budget which was readily approved for release by Governor Hamor.
The governor believes that none among the province barangay should be left out in terms of productive life.
In personally handing the checks to respective barangay officials he urge them to judiciously appropriate the funds for social services such as medicine, medical and educational assistance to their constituents.
Since the funds were sourced from the provincial budget it was clear to the baranagay officials that their allocations will be properly monitored to avoid wastage and use to non-priority expenses.
